Mind gym, no please!
Are you one of those miraculous people who stay fit without a gym membership?
Good, me too.
I always found that obsession with exercise questionable and imagine how many bottles of wine you can drink for that membership fee.
But that belief is a bit shaken over the last few days, which is of course the doing of that Mr Wallace D Wattles and his methodical science based method which praises I sang last week.
Although I like his straight talk, his urgency to follow his instructions is getting on my mind’s wick.
It starts to reek of gym membership.
He really focuses on the importance of training to control your thoughts and to keep your thoughts focused on the fact that there are infinite supplies for everything and that everything you want is possible even if it doesn’t appear possible right now.
But then he puts a nail in the coffin by saying that to control our thoughts is the hardest work in the world and most of us actually shy away from that and don’t train enough to learn how to do it.
And he is right, I am a case in point. If it requires rigorous training leave me out.
But I am curious about what he has to say so I read his examples on how to think so we won’t be hold back from being as good as we can be.
Take our thoughts on health; he points out that most of our thoughts are however focused on the absence of health and with that we hold sickness and disease in place.
I take that on board and think okay “let’s do a ‘thought check’ on health.”
Let’s take the health issue of my hay fever and see what I do with it.
I do nothing with it!
Instead of seeking assistance of health professionals to get healthy I hold the thought that nobody can help and I am forever stuck with hay fever.
However let’s humor Mr Wattles and see what the thought of health will hold and can accomplish.
So I think; “Lots of money for pills that won’t help and expensive doctor’s consultation.”
Wrooooong, not focused on health…..
Then I think; “Trust holistic health professionals and start with an enquiry into what is possible health wise and pay the bills happily.”
Gooooood, focused on health and now don’t waste time and make an appointment to get healthy….
I continue to think; “But I actually don’t have time and I don’t think my hay fever is that bad…..”
Wrooooong, your hay fever is that bad…..
I control my thinking and I grab the phone and make an appointment for a time that suits me.
Goooood, now I can get on with getting healthy…..
And the end result of holding the thought of health is…..drum rolls please……….
I have been prescribed high doses of Vitamin C that dramatically reduced my hay fever in a few days and I am not bankrupt.
So the outcome of let’s do the ‘health thought check’ is;
I was firmly focused on disease rather than health and I needed mind gym to get to the place that health was possible and within days my hay fever improved.
So another outcome is that I am now convinced (God help me) that I do need regular exercises to achieve what I want.
I am now checking my thoughts every 30 minutes and do mind gym with these exercises and a personal internal trainer whose talk is in the italics :
all is well (Oh is it? Yes! – do your mind stretch- But it is already 4 pm and I haven’t done the shopping yet and now I am too late to avoid traffic. Will you stop it. Do your mind stretches and all is well. Then get on with what you are doing. Ouch that mind stretch hurts.)
Repeat after me; I am doing enough of the right thing (Oh do I? Yes! But I should have started the research into classic boats for the article about Steadfast by now. Will you stop it, all in good time. Do your mind stretches and all is well. Then get on with what you are doing with intent. Ouch, that mind muscle can hurt.)
Be in the now, where are you right now. (Oops I am miles away, see I cannot do that thoughts stuff, I never get it sassed blah blah blah. Will you stop it, do your mind gym right now. All is well. Then get on with what you are doing with intent and trust that this way it will happen.)
So as you can see I have seen the light and have gone to the enemy camp of regular exercisers.
You can now drink alone or come to the gym with me.

Excellent noticing, Wilma. I’ve been trained to say, cancel, cancel when I get the negative thought. Then replace the thought with the possitive “what I DO want” … check out this website. This man helped heal my backpain.

Scary Wilma, do you mean that my health problems, my struggles, my life problems, my upset my sense of lack is all being held in place by my thoughts?
Do you really mean that if I train my thoughts, my whole world can change from struggle to peace and joy?
I like it, I’m in for thinking that way.
Isn’t it amazing D.Lisa, how it is all coming together and how for a long time our thinking has been neglected.
I really get a sense of my own power. Wonderful.
Thanks for the website link.
I know you have been thinking like that for a while, John….and I have a feeling you are delighted I am thinking like that too….imagine what we can create…
Excellent work
Wilma, and watching how and what we think is tough at first, but like anything it becomes habit and becomes easy! Are the mind stretches in the SOGR book? I have downloaded it but not read it yet.
Also good on you for knocking your hayfever on the head in a positive way. By watching what I eat, and what I do I have virtually eliminated my hayfever (which according to traditional doctors is impossible
.
Hey Andy, the mind stretches are my own personal training wheels to keep me on track as I found my mind sneakyer than I first was aware of. The SOGR book is full of other gems. You and Kim will certainly love it.
Yeah, I am very pleased about my hay fever victory too and good on us, I reckon.
