Never the twain shall meet. Never say never.
All the recent holidays and the talk of structures on our Trek Education course made me think.
There was a time when I had a job. For weeks beforehand I clung to the holiday thought. Reading any enriching books that remotely could contribute to work on holiday was unimaginable. On my holiday I wasn’t going to enrich anything other than my waistline.
My holiday and work were strictly separated and never the twain shall meet.
Afterwards the holiday photos normally ended up in a box if they ever got developed.
That was the end of that.
It never crossed my mind that it could be any other way.
Now I have structures called Trek Education and Lifestyle-Sailing. John and I also have a structure which is our December kayaking and camping holiday. We paddle, we pitch the tent, we swim and relax for a month. And here comes the crunch; before we take off we go to the Pathfinder bookshop to buy enriching books and I love it. On current holidays I am enriching the waistline AND the brain. And the holiday photos, well see our websites!
What changed?
Well, the twain is meeting! So never say never.
These days there is less isolation between my structures and abundance seems to be seamlessly flowing from one structure to another. My life is less fragmented; I seem to be living in my own rhythm. The holiday photos contribute to the websites; the reading and thinking – something I naturally like to do – have their pay offs at work and at home, the boat project is not just work or play.
Everything is cross pollinating and with less efforts I seem to kill more than one bird.
What seems odd too since the ‘twain’ of the structures ‘are meeting’, the travel has increased dramatically, in a period of 2 months I have been to Melbourne, Perth, Albany, Portland, I have sailed on the great Aussie Bight, seen lots of Holland while I was there and John and I went to Dunedin last weekend.
So ‘Never say never’ as James Bond knows. What Trek Edcuation knows about this you can see on the Structures page.
